Author Event: Joann Robertson at Misty River Books
Join Northerner Joann Robertson at Misty River Books on Friday June 22 at 5pm, where she will read from her newly released book “The Yukon: Life between the Gold Rush and the Alaska Highway”.
While many books have been written about the Klondike gold rush and the building of the Alaska Highway, little has been recorded about the period between 1897 and the middle of the next century. This book addresses that omission. Through family letters, news clippings, memoirs, photographs, and stories, Joann Robertson illuminates a period of Yukon history never before covered in one book. Her heartfelt narrative weaves a historically accurate account of a time before the highways were built and the Yukon changed forever.
Misty River Books is located at 103 – 4710 Lazelle Avenue in Terrace, B.C. It will be open from 9am to 8pm on Friday. For further information about Joann, her book, and this event, please feel free to reach us at 1-877-688-0320.
