Human Right Tribunal ruled in October that taxi companies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timescolonist.com\/business\/tribunal-dismisses-blind-man-s-complaint-against-victoria-taxi-1.2096371\">can refuse service<\/a> to blind individuals with guide dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, the reaction from the blind community has been one of dismay.<\/p>\n<p>The case was launched by Graeme McCreath, the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepoliticsofblindness.com\">The Politics of Blindness<\/a>, who was denied service by a cab driver following an evening at a Victoria restaurant in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Two letters, in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/touch\/opinion\/letters\/canada+immigration+policies+need+discussed\/11481592\/story.html?rel=7617429\">The Vancouver Sun<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timescolonist.com\/opinion\/letters\/blind-taxi-user-was-doubly-victimized-1.2099517\">The Victoria Times Colonist<\/a>, have come out this week in support of Graeme and his cause.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The B.C.
